Hello, my name is Patricia and I have nearly five years of teaching young adults in a school, and two years tutoring in the home environment. My subject areas where I have the most experience is Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Math. I bring real life learning experiences to my students to adapt to their learning style as students learn and absorb information differently. I work with puzzles, blocks and small toy balls for younger students to create a more interactive learning environment.
I had a 93% success rate with my student passing their GED exam. I completed pre-assessment testing to identify areas of concern and prepared lesson plans to focus on that content, and reviewed other areas of strength to remain consistent with established subject knowledge. My classroom also participated in learning how to Skype with students from other schools to work collaboratively on projects.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have four and a half years teaching reading comprehension skills and grammar to young adults. I had a 93% success rate in students passing their GED exam. Presenting good study skills, note taking strategies and learning how to recognize key words are instrumental techniques that I implement for my students to feel fully prepared when test time arrives.
