I have over fifteen years of experience tutoring to high school, college, and graduate students. My specialty lies in tutoring mathematics in several areas such as calculus, abstract/linear algebra, differential equations, real/complex analysis, algebraic and differential topology/geometry. I also give lessons for physics and engineering courses, e.g., statics, electrodynamics, general relativity, quantum and statistical mechanics, particle physics and cosmology, fluid dynamics and continuum mechanics. In my experience, I've found that students learn the physical sciences most efficiently through conceptual-based learning and active engagement in problem solving. Because of this, I will teach you problem solving strategies and help you improve mathematical proficiency through challenging problems. I will also help you build intuition needed to break down difficult concepts.

I give both individual and group sessions. I am usually available in the mornings and afternoons, but I'm flexible with students. My sessions are of two types; one for assigned work (homework, tests, etc.) and one centered on problem solving techniques and methods of proof. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, but I offer makeup sessions.

I look forward to hearing from you! I'll help you succeed in your studies!

The Best Math Tutor Period

Eugene is the most knowledgeable, patient, tutor I've ever learned from. I keep coming back to him because I'm actually learning and understanding concepts that would otherwise escape me. He accelerated my learning journey and I'm very grateful for it. Best investment in your education on this platform if you're serious about learning math.

Patient and knowledgeable tutor

Eugene helped me review fundamental group theory, as well as concepts in algebraic topology. He is an incredible tutor, and brings forth intuition that helps optimize understanding of the material.

Very Knowledgeable Quantum Physics Tutor

It was immediately clear that Eugene was extremely knowledgable and experienced compared to other tutors. His explanations were very clear and accurate. There are no doubts that Eugene can help you.

Best physics tutor I’ve ever had - Helped me get to UC Berkeley :)

This was my last quarter of community college and I got stuck with a really difficult Modern Physics teacher. I was failing and really struggling with the Quantum Mechanics portion of the class. I reached out to many tutors but Eugene was the only one who could clearly explain what my professor meant and fix the mistakes that were made in lecture. Eugene helped me attain a conceptual understanding of the math/physics I was doing. He was patient and made sure I understood as our session progressed. Thanks to Eugene, I was able to get a good grade in the class and transfer to UC Berkeley! :) I don’t think I would have made it without our sessions. I would highly recommend Eugene for anyone taking difficult physics classes and I will definitely keep meeting with him if I need help at Berkeley.

Best math and physics tutor a student could ask for

Eugene has helped me tremendously over the last year with my physics and maths studies. A year ago I enrolled in a Master in Quantum Technology degree in light of not having studied math and physics for the past 15 years. I trialled 8 others tutors, but once I had a lesson with Eugene I realized there would be no-one else close to his level. Eugene is patient and extremely knowledgeable. There has never been a question that I've had that he didn't know how succinctly answer and explain. I have performed well beyond my expectations and have Eugene, mainly, to thank for that. I highly recommend him!

Fantastic Tutor that makes difficult maths easy

Eugene is a fantastic tutor that knows his material inside and out and knows how to pass that knowledge on. He made Complex Analysis seem easy, breaking down difficult ideas I was struggling with into parts so simple I almost felt silly for not seeing it myself from the start. I was also surprised at how quickly we went through the work, what I would've spent hours struggling to grasp by myself reviewing earlier work he stepped through in minutes while explaining every part causing us to cover far more than I expected to in a single session. Every minute spent was invaluable and I can't recommend him enough.

Best college math tutor!

Eugene is simply put, amazing. He was extremely patient during our tutoring sessions and was always willing to break down concepts I didn't understand. Proofs that I had been looking at for hours were simplified within 15 minutes. Even if I didn't fully grasp a proof the first or second time, Eugene had no problem going through it again step-by-step with me. He always let me explain my train of thought before diving into a problem and then would either build off what I already had or would steer me in the right direction. I don't think I would have passed my class if it weren't for his math expertise.

He knows his mathematical material. “ senior level maths”

I have had a very difficult time with Topology. He helped knock out HW and gave clarity and meaningful context. Very easy to talk to and really lighten up the mood with his personality. Do not doubt his mathematical knowledge it is superior. Topology is not an easy course, but he apply his mathematical skills beautifully! I would highly encourage anyone taking absolutely any undergraduate mathematics course to set up a lesson with Eugene. He is worth more than you’ll ever get to pay him or thank him for!
