Carlow University (English)
Hello! My name is Rochel and I really enjoy tutoring. I graduated summa cum laude from Carlow University with a BA in English. I also have minors in Philosophy and Women’s Studies. My most recent employment was as a Fellow at Carlow University’s Center for Academic Achievement (CAA), where I held the titles of: Professional Tutor and Writing Specialist. This position allowed me to work in the classroom with instructors and one-on-one with students. I am a trustworthy and dependable person and students have repeatedly requested me as their tutor. As a lead tutor, I have successfully created and led group projects and workshops for the CAA. My writing and organizational skills are superb and have been proven again and again through my own work and through the success of my students and tutees.
I have a strong work ethic that presents itself in everything I do. I am dependable and punctual.I am practiced in establishing a productive, positive work environment. My previous experience as a classroom educator enables me to communicate with students easily, making the learning process fun and exciting. I have spent the past four years in a higher education setting gaining experience working with college students among various disciplines, but spent my time before that as an Early Education teacher, working in the Preschool and Elementary realms.
Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am trained and certified in PA Keys, NAYCE, Reggio Emilia, and PA Stars programs. I have been working in an Early Education or Elementary classroom setting for over 15 years. I returned to college to expand my degree and while there I tutored for the University's Center for Academic Achievement. I enjoy working with students and giving that extra bit of help, outside of the classroom instruction, to help them succeed.
