Sanford-Brown (Graphic Design)
My name is Staci and I'm a freelance graphic designer with 19 years of experience. My Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design was earned from Sanford Brown (formerly the International Academy of Design and Technology) in 2015. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my tenure with both institutions. Print design, logo design and digital imaging are among my favorite design areas. I am versed in all Adobe Creative Suite products with particular strengths in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Although I can work and teach cross-platform (both PC and Mac), I'm a true Mac lover at heart.
My tutoring methods include not only teaching how to apply the principles and rules of design, but when and why these rules should be applied. This is a major, but often overlooked, aspect of the design process. However, when this knowledge is put into practice, it will make a HUGE difference in the overall quality of your work. You will definitely walk away from our tutoring session with skills that you will be able to carry with you throughout the lifetime of your career as a designer. Staci is a great tutor! Staci displayed great patience while working with me. I never used Illustrator and was taking it for an accelerated course in Desktop Publishing and needed caught up to speed. Staci sent me tutorials even before we met so I can practice some exercises. Definitely will continue to use her expertise.
Thank you, Ilana. I enjoyed working with you as well. You are sure to go far in your field, just keep up the practice and you'll have Illustrator mastered before you know it. I look forward to working with you again and showing you more tricks of the trade.
I was having problems with some of the Photoshop brushes and techniques. Staci helped me so I was able to finish my assignment for my Graphic Design course. Staci is knowledgeable and professional. Would use her services again...
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I hold an Associate's degree in Graphic Design and will have my Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design in May 2015. During my educational tenure, I have constantly held a 4.0 GPA in all subjects, including Adobe InDesign. Additionally, I currently use Adobe InDesign in the graphic design field and will gladly submit examples of projects I created using this software. My familiarity and comfort level with the program give me the confidence that I will be able to teach students how to use and understand this program.
I'm a professional graphic designer and use the pen tool as part of my regular work routine. I'm comfortable and qualified to help you learn how to get the hang of this feature.
I have been actively working in the graphic design field for 18 years and currently hold an Associate's Degree in Graphic Design (Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design will be earned by May 2015). Logo design, print design, website design, package design, marketing campaigns, digital imaging, video editing and DVD production are among the projects I handle on a regular basis. My passion for graphic design motivates me to want to share my knowledge with others who are interested in graphic design. I am often called upon by up-and-coming designers and my classmates to help with design projects and I am confident that I will make a great tutor in this field.
