I work with students of all ages- high school, community college, undergraduate, graduate, and adults returning to school. I am a seasoned standardized test-taker and study enthusiast who would love to help others succeed, whether that be subject material, test preparation and test taking strategies, or general study skills. I look forward to sharing my passion for learning and helping you reach your academic goals!

I graduated from the University of Colorado - Boulder a semester early, in December 2012. At CU, I majored in Psychology and additionally took Pre-med courses, which included Biology, General Chemistry, Physics, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry. In my time at University of Colorado I participated on the Women's Division 1 volleyball team, and after injury moved to a student assistant role. I then worked for several years at a community hospital, before applying to medical school as a non-traditional applicant. I am currently in my fourth and final year of medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and am applying into Pediatric residency programs!

Excellent tutor and extremely caring.

I hired Ellen R. to be my tutor for Organic Chemistry II after my first exam showed less than desirable results. I thought I was a lost cause until she showed me extreme patience and care. Not only was she able to explain concepts in an easy to understand manner, but she provided study tips, and also encouraged me that I could pass the class. Also, Ellen told me that I could text her any time if I had a question. Additionally, Ellen genuinely wanted to know how I performed on the exams and what she could do to make me feel more comfortable solving problems. It is safe to say that I could not have passed Organic Chemistry II without her. I would definitely recommend her skills to a friend who is struggling with Organic Chemistry because I actually looked forward to our sessions instead of dreading the thought of Organic Chemistry.

Amazing!!!!

Ellen was absolutely the most patient and wonderful person I know. She literally taught me Organic Chemistry I and II in eight weeks and I was able to pass my class (which I never would have been able to do if it weren't for her). She is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to figure out how I learned and tutored based on that. You can't go wrong with her. She was AMAZING!!!

Dedicated Tutor

Ellen tutored me through Organic Chemistry in five weeks this summer! She dedicated at least 8 hours a week to me, purely educating me on organic. She is a very knowledgeable in all areas of science and also has many test taking tips too! Without Ellen I would not have passes my Organic Chemistry class, she is very caring and invested to every student individual grade. I would recommend her to anyone to thinks they might need help, sever help or just reassurance in their work! Thank You Ellen.

Great tutor!

Ellen helped me through senior year chemistry in which I never thought I would be able to survive! My grade easily went up after meeting with her weekly. She is extremely confident in all that she teaches & always there to answer questions, even if the question is over a text after a session! Loved working with her!

EXCELLENT TUTOR!

Ellen R. is a perfect match for my daughter. She was so quick to reply, and answered all of my initial questions. Her communication skills are top notch and she is very professional from the get go. She showed up on time for the tutoring session and was ready to go. She was right on with the information to get my daughter up to speed in her Chemistry class. She is so intelligent and within five minutes knew where my daughter needed help. She was positive, and knows her Chemistry for sure. My daughter was thrilled with Ellen! Ellen really motivated her to get caught up. I cant say enough. She is awesome, and I would highly recommend her as a tutor! The best! My search is over!

Good chemistry

Ellen formed an immediate rapport with my daughter. She identified where my daughter had weak spots in her understanding and was able to reconstruct the necessary concepts and connections in an effective way. I believe with a few more sessions her foundation and problem solving will be much improved.
