I can help your child write more effectively. I teach to eliminate unnecessary words and use words that work.
Professionally, I worked in Washington, DC for 20 years in the field of telecommunications and public policy for federal government think tanks in the Judiciary and at the Federal Communications Commission. I was a policy analyst for the management consulting firm of Booz Allen Hamilton where I worked as a contractor to the FBI to help implement upgrades to the nation's electronic infrastructure. I have experience in the research department of a health care communications firm where I conducted research and analysis to improve wellness among certain communities. I provided findings-based actionable recommendations to improve government technology investment and use at an advisory services firm. Most recently, in Pittsburgh, I served in a business development and client services role for a company that provides emergency management software. That company was sold and I was laid off.
While I am seeking full time employment, I'd like to help your child. I have a child in elementary school and I have a knack for imparting knowledge to children. Generally, I believe in simplifying the learning process and eliminating unnecessary complications. I can help your child become a better writer, improve their understanding of social sciences, or feel more confident using math. Please contact me with any questions you have. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
