I am a seasoned professional educator with over 25 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience. I am ready to help you master your educational subject. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

Although my degree in not in History. I have completed over 20 years of independent study and research into Ancient History, World History, and American History in addition to my Ph.D.

Career Development

I am well qualified and experienced in the subject of career development. I am a Qualified Facilitator of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, which is a widely respected personality indicator and is very useful in guiding students and their parents in choosing a college major and also in in choosing the corresponding career to ones college major or technical school or other non-college employment.

Marketing

I have taught marketing at the Undergraduate level for over 15 years at Letourneau and Amberton Universities.

Public Speaking

I teach public speaking at the college level locally and have taught this subject for 15 years now. I have also trained many radio announcers and talk show hosts over years in Kansas City.

I have also taught extemporaneous speaking and teach students different methods for public speaking including verbatim delivery, notes with visual cues, use of cultural idioms and how to read audience body reaction and body language. I also teach how to use nonverbal communication skills to help the maximize the audiences reception and retention of what they have heard.

Reading

I have experience with students who need help with reading. I work to help students use phonics and also help build their vocabulary. I am especially adept in helping students learn to interpret what they have read and help them see the logic and flow of ideas and symbols present in reading matter. I also help students read aloud to help them learn diction, pitch, and tone to be more persuasive in their communication.

Religion

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Religion from Mid-America Nazarene University plus I have 28 graduate hours in Theology from Nazarene Theological Seminary. I completed 20 hours of independent research in world religions and teach World Religion I (Monotheistic) and World Religion II (Polytheistic) at University of Phoenix ground campus.

Special Needs

I have had a great deal of experience in working with ADHD, Behavior Disordered and Autistic students. I worked at a Teacher's Assistant at St. Louis County Special School District and also the Judevine Center for Autistic Children in St. Louis for three years. I also helped other students who Tourette's etc.

I have experience in this area.

World History

I have 20 years of independent research and study in pre-history, ancient history, world history, Church history. I have taught World Religion I and II at University of Phoenix in Dallas for over 6 years.

Writing

I teach College Essay Writing I &II at the undergraduate level at a university in the DFW area. I was also the former Area Chair of Communications at a major university and assisted writing faculty.
