Hello! I'm Alvin, a current junior at Carnegie Mellon University studying Electrical and Computer Engineering & Robotics. I am experienced with programming (Python, C, Matlab, SystemVerilog), computer systems, machine learning, analog circuits, digital system design, embedded systems, control theory, and robotics concepts such as kinematics and dynamics, computer vision, localization, path planning, and more.
I have always enjoyed helping others with school work, especially in group work or team projects. In college, I was a teacher assistant for a digital systems course, holding recitation, office hours, and lab sessions for students. At the same time, I also helped out my sister in high school with her calculus.
When working with students, I prefer interactive classes where I engage my students in thoughtful conversations rather than simply reciting lesson material. I try to make classes fun and engaging, but also rigorous and comprehensive at the same time. I tailor lessons to meet the student's individual needs, making sure that they are getting the most out of their time.
I am here to help, so I am always open to suggestions students or parents may have. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions that you may have. Best of luck to your studies!
