I’m Vivian! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and a minor in Chemistry before completing my medical degree with honors. I have been tutoring medical students for the past three years. When I have a new student, the first meeting is usually a “strategy/action plan/introduction” session. During this, we discuss their current situation, the problems they’re having with the subjects, previous approaches they have tried, what worked and didn’t work, resources they have used/are using, and any expectations. We come up with a personalized study schedule that is realistic and tailored to the student, which we can use to keep track. By the end of this session, the students are pretty comfortable and confident that they have a plan and are motivated to follow through. The study schedule we make on day 1 changes as the student makes progress and sees the need to make adjustments. Tutoring is definitely at the student’s pace, I am there to help them navigate through the challenges.
My goal is to go the extra mile clarifying concepts, engage the student when teaching and provide easy-to-understand materials. I look forward to the opportunity to draw on my experience to teach and assist students develop strong study habits and skills based on the subject and student’s individual needs.
I am easy to reach and will strive to provide fast responses to my students despite my busy schedule. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or schedule a lesson!
