Hello, I'm Jason! Over the last 10 years, I have worked with students in all grades K-12, either through tutoring or as a classroom teacher. I have been a fully certified, highly effective teacher for the past 10 years. Teaching for me is a calling. Hello, I'm Jason! Over the last 10 years, I have worked with students in all grades K-12, either through tutoring or as a classroom teacher. I have been a fully certified, highly effective teacher for the past 10 years. Teaching for me is a calling. I love helping my students reach their potential and go beyond what they currently think they are capable of.

In addition to being a classroom teacher, I have been working with a local, private test prep company for the past 4 years and have over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience. The SAT and ACT are not IQ tests and are not simply a measure of how smart you are. You can make significant gains in your scores if you understand these tests, know what strategies to use, and target your specific content areas of need. I love working with students to explain concepts in a way that they can understand, give them steps they can take to reach their goals, and help them to arrive at that "aha" moment for themselves.

For students that are not sure whether to take the SAT or ACT, I provide consultations to help students decide which test is the right fit. I am also willing to do consultations (1 or a few sessions) for students to help get them started on SAT or ACT prep that they can do primarily on their own. This would be for students that are already close to achieving their score goals or are highly motivated to self-study and just need some direction to get started.

I am excited to begin tutoring you or your child! While I specialize in ACT and SAT prep, I also do prep for SSAT, ISEE, and HSPT as well as subject tutoring for grades K-12. Based on your needs, we can do anywhere from 1 or a few sessions to regular on-going sessions for several months. We'll work together to figure out a plan that best serves you! Proficient and Patient

Jason helped my son feel more confident in his math class from the 1st lesson. They both recognize the work that needs to be done to get him up to speed and I feel, with his help, my son is more willing to put in the time and work on the class.

Knocked it out of the park

We had our first session with Jason. My daughter is in the fifth grade and retaking the ISEE test in two months. She had tutoring prior to her first test and after this first session with Jason her response to me was “I should’ve had him for the first test, this was amazing I already feel like I’ve learned so much from one session“. great motivator and teacher

Jason found just the right balance of motivating my daughter and challenging her to learn, while reducing her anxiety about the SAT math. She had a lot of catching up to do, and wasn't super motivated, but Jason met her where she was and kept her moving forward with clear explanations, a sense of humor, and assignments specific to what she needed to learn. He also worked with her busy schedule to help her right up until the test. She improved a lot, learned some important test-taking strategies, and felt confident going into the test yesterday--and felt good coming out! Couldn't have asked for a better tutor, and we're both grateful we found Jason.
