I'm Perry! I graduated suma cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Temple University in 2014. My undergraduate career was full of tutoring college-level students, as well as helping professors as a classroom assistant every year. My first experience as a tutor was in a calculus class at Temple University, my second year. I had the responsibility to teach complimentary lessons during office hours to freshman calculus students, as well as helping them 1-on-1 with their homework. My next year, I worked in a tutoring center, where I had more 1-on-1 experience, helping a diverse population of Temple students in topics such as algebra, calculus, geometry, trigonometry, and physics.
After I got my Master's degree, I had a job as an adjunct professor at Hussian College in Philadelphia, teaching Algebra 1 and 2 to college students. I designed the curriculum, including lessons, homework assignments, quizzes, and exams. I taught three sections of this class over two semesters.
I am passionate about explaining things to people in ways that are easy to understand. I love math, yet I understand that it can be very challenging sometimes. Through my years of tutoring and teaching, I have developed skills to explain math and physics in ways that are understandable to people who may have struggled with them before.
I have experience tutoring people of diverse interests and backgrounds. I have my Master's degree in mechanical engineering, and a year of teaching part-time as an adjunct professor in Algebra 1 and 2.
I want to help students practically with whatever they need, so I am willing to use any resources you wish to provide, and I am open to suggestions about which topics you'd like to cover. I am easy to reach, and quick to respond to messages. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions, or to schedule an appointment!
