Currently serving as a Research and Data Analyst, I previously taught Quantitative Methods to both undergraduate and masters students as well as serving as a consultant for non-profits, government agencies, and doctoral students who needed statistical guidance on their dissertation. Additionally, I held weekly open hours where students/faculty could seek help regarding R, Stata, econometrics/statistics, as well as other statistical software. I believe in providing tutoring that makes sense to the student by teaching them the practical realities of the subject.

I have a PhD from the University of Kansas and a Masters from Monmouth University. I was an instructor for four years at both the undergraduate and masters level teaching quantitative analysis, statistics, as well as statistical software. Currently serve as a Research and Data Analyst in the higher education sector where I conduct analyses on statistical software in a "real world" setting. Organized and operated several workshops on R, Python, and statistical techniques such as Structural Equation Modelling and spatial econometrics.

I organized and operated a "summer institute" on Stata, completed all of the analysis in my dissertation using STATA, providing help to both faculty and doctoral students on how to code correctly (and efficiently!) in STATA.

I often think that the thought of statistics and statistical software is more daunting than the topics themselves and strive to ensure that students can learn it effectively but in a stress-free environment. Plus, I use all my skills to predict my NCAA March Madness bracket every year.

Econometrics

I wrote my dissertation on the econometric methods used in policy analysis. The first chapter compared the bias of several sample selection methods (propensity scores, instrumental variables, Heckman correction). The second chapter utilized the split-panel jackknife probit, one of the first applications of the method that wasn't theoretical. The third chapter compared the results of stochastic frontier analysis to traditional OLS in examining the performance of public institutions.

Perfect Tutor to help with Research

Eric is a great tutor for helping you accomplish your research goals. We worked through possible research topics with the data given, and then how to manipulate the code in STATA in order to obtain the intended results. He responds very quickly and it was easy planning sessions with him. He's extremely knowledgeable on topics related to statistics, data, and STATA and I definitely learned something new at each session. Thanks for all the help!
