I joined Philadelphia’s Department of Human Services in 2018 as a Data & Evaluation Associate. I work with the Department of Human Services to build their capacity develop and sustain their survey capabilities. I currently, hold a Master of Science degree in Statistics, Measurement, Assessment, and Research Technology from the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, I received my Bachelor of the Arts degree from Temple University in Sociology. I have previously worked with Research For Action and the School District of Philadelphia performing program evaluations and projects dealing with State/Local policy. During my time at these organizations I had various responsibilities that include assistance with database construction, database management, and data analysis using statistical tools such as Excel, STATA, and R. I also managed the dissemination and collection of various survey data that ranged from 100 to 10,000 survey participants.

For the past 2 years I worked as a quantitative coach for students in a Mid-Career program with the University of Pennsylvania's graduate school of education. I helped many students as a Teaching Assistant, a personal tutor outside of class, and I worked with students with fine tuning the quantitative portions of their dissertation using SPSS. I enjoy the one on one work that comes from helping people to break through some of the fears they have about statistics and trying to apply them in their everyday work.

I am able to adequately explain and breakdown difficult statistical concepts that may be too hard to grasp initially. I am able to blend this together with explaining how this has an impact on the world around us.

I am able to take the wide array of sociological concepts and hone in on specific examples to illustrate how those concepts can be used in everyday spaces.

I have 5+ years of experience working in different fields (i.e education, human services, and sociology) using STATA, SPSS, and R. I have a unique take on how it can be used for applied concepts outside of the classroom.

Please feel free to contact me to learn more about how I can be a resource to buttress your growing knowledge in Statistics and sociology.
