EXPERIENCE
I have experience tutoring Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, History, English, Earth Science, Life Science, and Social Studies. In terms of teaching experience, in 2015 I developed and taught a course on architecture for grade school children for the Summer Institute for the Gifted at the University of Miami. This past fall I tutored international students over a 6-week period through the entire college application essay creation process.

EDUCATION
I majored in sociology and double minored in urban and environmental studies which required me to take a variety of architecture, science, and history courses in addition to my courses in the social sciences, thereby providing me with a broad base of academic experience.

I have also written a 140-page undergraduate thesis, giving me invaluable experience with the long-form writing process.

In addition to assisting students with their school-assigned essays, this past fall I tutored international students over a 6-week period through the entire college application essay creation process. In working with the students, I emphasized the importance of story-telling and the importance of orienting the reader when writing a personal statement. I guided one particular student to complete 5 different college application essays over the course of only 8 one-hour sessions. I also have assisted undergraduate students with organizing and structuring their content for their 80 page theses. To date, I have helped 3 undergraduate seniors meet their thesis deadlines by assisting them in organizing their chapters, helping them develop a research plan, and structuring a tailored completion plan. Prior to working with me, all 3 undergraduate seniors were in danger of not completing their theses on time.

I majored in sociology at Princeton University, completing a 140-page thesis on the experiences of low-income, first-generation international students at top-20 universities in the US. After graduation, I created two positions at Princeton--one at the student affairs office and one within Princeton's Career Services office--where I developed and implemented programs to support first-generation and low-income students at the university. I also collected quantitative and qualitative data that was used by the university to create a new office to specifically support first-generation and low-income students.
