I have 10 years of tutoring experience, and have worked for multiple test prep companies in the past. I have teaching experience (I used to be a high school teacher), and I have even created curriculum for SAT prep programs. More importantly, I love helping students beat standardized tests, and the instruction I provide is unparalleled.
I scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT (176 out of 180). When I was studying for the test, I took every practice test (there are ~60 published practice tests) twice. All in all, I did over 10,000 practice problems. This is a huge benefit to you, because you want an LSAT tutor who is extensively familiar with as many practice problems as possible. I took the test in September of 2017, so everything is still very fresh in my mind. I put a year of my time into cracking this test, and I truly enjoy sharing that knowledge with other students. This test CAN be beat!
For both the SAT and the LSAT, I offer the following tutoring options:
1) A structured program in which I provide lessons on strategy for each section. We start with three introductory lessons (one for each section of the test). During each of these lessons, I will teach you the overall strategy for each section, the specific question types, and specific strategies for each question type. After the three introductory lessons, the focus is on reviewing missed practice problems. This option is recommended for students scoring under the 80th percentile (1200 or lower on the SAT, and 160 or lower on the LSAT).
2) Specialized tutoring for more advanced students who already have a solid understanding of the test and have been studying for 1-3 months. This option is recommended for students scoring above the 80th percentile (1200 or higher on the SAT, and 160 or lower on the LSAT). Typically we review specific problems or concepts, and the lessons can address anything the student needs at the time.
Here's a little more information about my qualifications:
I hold a Master's degree in Secondary Education (GPA 4.0/4.0), and before that I graduated summa cum laude (GPA 3.83/4.0) from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Hispanic Studies. I have been tutoring for 10 years, and I have tutored nearly all subjects as well as SAT and LSAT prep. I scored a 2340 (780M, 780CR, 780W) on the SAT and I scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT (176). I tutored for over four years at Academia Education in California, where I tutored everything from history (U.S. & European) to English, Spanish, Biology, and Physics. I also worked for an SAT prep company called Revolution Prep. I taught SAT classes (approximately 15 students per class) and tutored students privately. All of my students improved their scores, ranging from scoring in the 900s on a first practice exam to 1700 on the real SAT, to bumping students who were scoring in the 1800s-2000s to above 2100. Most recently, I created the curriculum and taught classes for an SAT prep course at Delcastle Technical High School.
I have taken university-level classes in Economics, German, Math, Art History, Psychology, Spanish, Cognitive Science, Communications, Communicative Literature, Health and Societies, Marketing, Anthropology, Statistics, Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, Physics, and Geology. In addition, I scored a 5 on the following APs: Biology, Calculus AB, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, Art History, European History, U.S. History, and Literature.
I scored a 780 on the math section of the SAT. Math has always been an easy subject for me, and I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam in high school. I have tutored Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2/Trigonometry.
I scored a 780 on both the Reading and Writing/Language section of the SAT. I also scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT - most of which requires being able to read and comprehend very complex passages and logical arguments.
I also have experience working with students with learning disabilities. I have worked with students who have ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, and Asperger's syndrome. I recently worked with a student who was struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. With my help over a period of months, she was able to graduate from her graduate program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Not only do I have extensive tutoring experience, but I also have real classroom teaching experience. I taught high school Spanish for two years in Wilmington, Delaware. I absolutely love tutoring, and helping students learn is one of my greatest passions. I am very patient and understanding with students, and I would love to help you, your son or your daughter with whatever subject they are having difficulty with. Hope to hear from you soon!

Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor
Michelle B. has been tutoring me for the LSAT. She is professional, and very patient. Michelle is a great tutor because she breaks down complicated questions, and allows you to see a different perspective, so that you can apply the same techniques by yourself. I am still early on in the stages of tutoring, but as of now I would definitely recommend her!Vianka, 2 lessons with Michelle
Very to the point and patient!
Michelle was very helpful in breaking down LSAT questions into their most essential form, and helping me understand how to quickly differentiate wrong answers from correct ones. Especially being the week of the test, I was very pleasantly surprised in how much I learned in one session!Tucker, 1 lesson with Michelle
My first session with Michelle was great! We went over Logic games first and her explanations were easy to follow and the answers made sense. Before the session was over I was already thinking about our next session lol. Michelle is a great tutor!Tamika, 4 lessons with Michelle
An excellent tutor
Michelle is a super strong tutor. Even before we booked our session, she had great suggestions on how to prepare for the LSAT that are already paying dividends, and our first session was extremely helpful guidance for how to get myself to the score I want. I look forward to working with her again.Blair, 1 lesson with Michelle
Michelle was flexible, understanding and so helpful! She was able to walk me through step by step, never judged me, and I feel much mor confident now than I did prior. That was all done in one hour! Definitely will be coming back!Samantha, 1 lesson with Michelle
Exceptional Logic Games tutor
As far as logic games are concerned Michelle is the best tutor I've ever had. She knows reading comprehension and logical reasoning well also but I just didn't have more than a week with her. Every minute working with her was a great value. If you can't figure out how to approach a question or are having timing issues she has great advice. She went to University of Penn, graduated with honors, and got a 176 on the LSAT. Needless to say she is very smart and is a great resource for anyone looking to increase their score. One example of how she really helped me was teaching me which information to use as your base information for diagramming the logic games. Her advice helped me bridge a key gap my thinking and set me up for an improved understanding of how to do the logic games.Matt, 6 lessons with Michelle
