Bio

I'm Andrew. I graduated with highest honors (magna cum laude) with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. I have always been passionate about Math & Science. I have experience working as a mechanical engineer for The Boeing Company, where I took great pleasure in applying my knowledge of calculus and physics for practical applications. I recently left my position in order to pursue my passion and I am in the process of pursuing a PhD in Physics.

I have experience working as a mechanical engineer for The Boeing Company, where I took great pleasure in applying my knowledge of calculus and physics for practical applications. I recently left my position in order to pursue my passion and I am in the process of pursuing a PhD in Physics.

I love to teach and I am passionate about mathematics & science. Specific subjects I enjoy tutoring are: Calculus I-V, Physics I-III, Thermodynamics, Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, and other sciences. My tutoring approach is simple - 1) Briefly go through any theory or derivation if necessary. 2) Go through basic examples to build confidence in the approach or theorem being used. 3) Build in complexity only after confidence has been built. I believe this is the most natural approach to learning and I have found it to be the most effective for me.

Mathematics is the language which describes the universe and I truly believe that every student can be a good mathematician. I think most people would be surprised how small the difference between an A and a low grade can be. I recognize that students may require different approaches to learning and I look forward to working with them to figure out which approach works best. My aim is to make sure my students always understand instead of memorize the content as I know this is the best approach in the long run. Mathematics is uniquely cumulative and builds upon itself - often times educational road blocks occur because of a lack of understanding of a prior theorem, postulate, derivation step, or concept which was previously memorized instead of understood. My intent is to find any such road blocks if they are there and remove them so the student can learn more fluently in the future.

I hope you will give me the opportunity to help you on your academic path. If you are not satisfied with the lesson let me know and I will not bill you.
