I am a former Tufts graduate student as well as Tufts alum who worked as a tutor during my undergraduate career for students in elementary and middle school in courses ranging from math, reading comprehension, religious studies, and writing. I was also a Religion and Political Science tutor for fellow classmates during my time at Tufts and worked on writing, editing, and thinking through various types of papers and assignments. I am also a certified counselor with a leadership program and I love to teach and guide students to help them overcome academic challenges in a friendly, patient, and sincere manner. I believe that in order for tutoring to be effective, a student has to be helped to learn that he or she is more than capable of doing well despite the initial challenges of the assignment. I also believe that every student has a unique learning style and it is my goal from the very beginning to customize my teaching to that student. While at Tufts I was a member of the Leonard Carmichael Society, which was dedicated to community service and tutoring elementary and middle-school students in the area.

I think learning and applying skills can be fun and students simply need to be given the chance to prove that and explore their own styles of learning (there are so many!). If you would like to meet regularly, as needed, or just once or twice, feel free to contact me.

I understand that Math can be a challenge for many elementary school students and even come off as scary to s
