About Connor

I am currently a law student at Villanova University. My undergraduate work was in Communications with an emphasis in Advertising. I also earned a minor in Political Science, with a 4.0 GPA. I've never officially tutored but have often assisted my colleagues and classmates in understanding concepts. I have a great degree of patience and am willing to take the time to make sure you understand the concepts that you need to know.

I have a great deal of passion for social studies and civics on a personal level. That passion is something I wish to imbibe in anyone I tutor and help them to understand how important these topics are to being an active and informed citizen. Idealism aside, I can also help you learn the key concepts for that test you may need to pass.

As mentioned in my biography, I am very passionate history and have read many books on the subject. Starting from middle school, I was enrolled in GT and AP history classes and took multiple electives in both high school and college on history. I am versed in American history, ancient and medieval history, and world history. My focus of personal study has often been Classics history i.e. ancient Greece and Rome.

Film is one of my greatest passions and hobbies. I've seen nearly 1100 films despite my fairly young age of 22. I've watched movies ranging from classics such as Gone with the Wind and M to more modern indie films such as The Witch and Room. I've watched every Best Picture winner up to 1986 and have seen most of the ones afterwards.

In addition to my extensive film watching, I know plenty about film technique. Having taken a film class in college, I know numerous camera techniques, framing methods, and I also write on film professionally. I am better equipped to teach on the history of film but can provide a general knowledge of technique.

I am an overall laid-back and easygoing person who likes helping people to understand topics unfamiliar with them. My passion for what I know and my sense of humor will make me a prime tutor to have, not to mention my competitive rate! If you have any questions on what I can teach you, feel free to email me and we can work out whatever you need!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Criminal Justice

I hold a minor in Political Science and earned a 4.0 GPA in it. Several of the classes I took had strong criminal justice leanings. I am also currently a law student at Villanova University and my knowledge of the law helps exceptionally with understanding the tenants of Criminal Justice.

Film

Having viewed nearly 1100 films already in my life, I hold an extensive knowledge of film history and the various periods of film in American and world-wide. I am also versed in film technique having taken a film class in college as well as utilizing my film skills for my strategic communications major at WVU.

Political Science

I am extensively learned in Political Science. I have previously interned with the West Virginia Legislature and hold a minor in Political Science which I earned a 4.0 GPA in at West Virginia University. As a President of the College Libertarians at WVU, I was also involved in political debates and have read many books on the subject of political science from multiple political persuasions.
