I currently teach 3rd grade at Ad Prima Charter School. Teaching has been an immense joy in my life; in the sense that I have always been driven to share what I know and what I learn with others. While attending high school I had the opportunity to tutor my peers and become a teachers assistant during free periods. I was fortunate enough to continue helping other academically while attending Temple University where I held positions as an academic tutor for a variety of subjects, a teaching assist, as well as the head English instructor for the upward bound program. Upon graduating I became curious about how children acquire knowledge, so I started at the very beginning and became a private nanny. From there I chose positions that would help me further my understanding of knowledge acquisition.
Currently I am a mom to a vibrant 18 month old son who amazes me everyday. As well as a happy teacher to a classroom full of students. I love watching my students ponder new concepts, work through difficult problem, and cement new knowledge. However, tutoring still holds a special place in my heart. I love working with students on an individual basis and I highly value the mutually beneficial exchanges of information and opinion that can come through even in the smallest of conversations. Being a tutor allows me to problem solve and help my tutees examine learning in a different way.
Life is all about the relationships you form. One unique relationship that has brought me joy and a new appreciation for mathematics as a subject is my marriage. My husband is a mathematician who helps me understand mathematical concepts and how to break down an equation to its simplest form. The major benefit of having me as a tutor is the fact that he will also be able to help if the need arises.
Common Core is a new way of teaching and learning the has swept our nation. Fortunately, common core is at the base of my teaching foundation as it was a requirement in my teaching education program. In addition to the fact that I use common core on a daily basis in my classroom to craft every lesson.
The major benefit for hiring me as your tutor is the fact that I am an elementary school teacher. I have my teaching certification, clearances, and a degree in Elementary Education.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am qualified to tutor common core because I work with it everyday in my classroom. I use common core standards and principles to develop all my lesson plans. I also have had extensive training about understanding and applying common core.
As an educator I create numerous assessment tools every year. Thus I create countless more study tool for my students. I use a variety of methods to ensure that all learning style can grasps the content such as flash cards, jeopardy, even movement.
