West Chester University (English Writing)
Gwenydd Mercy University (Master's)
My name is Karlette and I am 29 years old. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English (Writing Emphasis) with a minor in Health Sciences. I recently applied to graduate school and was accepted and I will eventually receive a Masters in Teaching with a concentration in Secondary English. It has been a dream of mine to become a teacher and I finally took the next step to make that happen. I really enjoy helping others and I feel that having a grasp on the English language and having the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written is the key to success.
I do not have experience as a paid tutor but in my current position as well as throughout my studies as an undergraduate student I was and still am readily available to help others. I am currently a QA Manager at a analytical chemistry laboratory and my daily tasks include writing reports and checking the reports written my others. These reports go out to customers so it is very important that they are written effectively to communicate our findings and are free of mistakes. During my time as an undergraduate, I was involved in writing workshops. These workshops allowed me to give and receive feedback on my papers and the papers of my peers. We would switch papers and review asking questions when necessary and giving ideas when the opportunity arose. With that being said, I just want to make an impact on someone's life, because I know the feeling you get when receiving an A! During my studies as an English major at West Chester University, I was able to develop and enhance my skills through multiple writing intensive courses. I have also helped coworkers and my peers by proofreading their work as well as helping them work on projects of their own. I am very patient and thoroughly enjoy helping others develop their reading and writing skills. If you want to enhance your knowledge and are willing to put in hard work we can work together. Hi!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
