Hi! My name is Rebecca, and I am an elementary school counselor. Although my job might not suggest it, I have always enjoyed and excelled in math and Spanish. I went to the University of Pennsylvania for both college and graduate school and graduated undergrad Magna Cum Laude. I currently work as an elementary school counselor and have plenty of experience working with children in kindergarten through eighth grade. I would love to tutor anyone in these grades and am also happy to tutor high school students in algebra 1 or 2. Please contact me if you are interested.
In high school, I received all A's in the highest levels of both subjects, scored an 800 on the SAT II Math 2C, a 5 on the BC Calc AP exam, and a 740 on the SAT II Spanish subject test.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am certified as an elementary school counselor and learned about autism in grad school. I work with several children who were autistic in my career as a counselor, helping them express their feelings and engage in appropriate social relationships with their peers. More importantly, I worked as a mental health therapist with children who were autistic at an early intervention center prior to working as an elementary school counselor. I helped these children develop social skills and communication skills and express emotions.
As an elementary and middle school counselor, part of my role is to help students improve their study skills. I have taught guidance lessons, run small groups, and worked with children individually to help them improve their current study skills or develop new ones, improve their organizational skills, feel motivated, and connect their interests to academic studies. I am excited to tutor students to help them build these skills.
