I love to see a smile on a student's face when the student gets it! I worked one on one with struggling readers, and students whose first language was not English. I have also tutored Math and French. I am patient and enjoy getting to know the student so the tutoring session is fun.
I like setting goals and making sure the student succeeds. I try to find different and interesting ways to explain the same thing until the student feels confortable with the subject at hand. I try to be well prepared so that we have a successful session. At the end of each session I try to spend some time asking questions and reviewing what we have covered.
I will be certified in Pennsylvania to teach Pre-K to Grade 4 and French. I student taught a first grade Classroom, at the Philadelphia School District. I have observed a reading Fourth Grade classroom and a Six Grade Math and Social Studies classroom.
I have taught adult ESL students and working on my ESL certification. I am learning Spanish and did a Service learning in the dominican Republic teaching English to teen agers and helping the Pre-K teachers with lesson plans and material.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am qualified to teach Elementary students because I will be getting my Pre-K to Grade 4 certification in May 2016 from West Chester University. I student taught a first grade classroom and have observed a fourth grade and a sixth grade classroom. My supervisor has provided feedback on my teaching during my student teaching. I have tutored math and reading. I have also helped my two children when they were younger.
I am patient and present the information based on how the student answers the questions. I give the student time to respond and show the information in different ways and at the end review what we have covered.
