I am currently teaching Geometry in a public school within the School District of Philadelphia. Previously, I worked at a charter school for a couple of year. Prior to that I went to Drexel University for four years and obtained my Bachelors of Science in Math Education with a Minor in Mathematics. While at Drexel I taught about Environmental Science and the Water Department through an internship.
I love being able to find new ways of teaching Algebra and Geometry lessons, especially when I'm able to find creative ways with my limited resources. I also worked as a 3rd grade STEM teacher at a summer camp last year. The students really appreciated the opportunity as they were bused to a state-of-the-art facility from Trenton everyday; while I appreciated the chance to work with students outside of my normal grade level. I love that tutoring will allow for me to work one-on-one with a student and see their personal successes as they are able to gather more understanding from additional assistance; this is something that I have rarely had the ability to do as a teacher with a minimum ratio of 1 to 19.
I live in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia and have weekday availability after school. I am willing to travel to meet your student at a place of convenience for both of us.
I look forward to being able to use the WyzAnt platform to be in frequent communication with students.
Erin hasn’t set a schedule.
