A California girl living in the East Coast. I am a 28 year old Graduate student in Philadelphia. I am getting my graduate degree in Teaching, learning and Curriculum. I recently completed an enrichment curriculum for Reading, Science and Math for a non-profit organization. I've completed my Bachelors at the University of California, Irvine in Public Health and Cognitive Science. I have worked for start-ups, a hospital and a large non-profit organization so am well versed in different environments. I am happy to discuss them as they cover both the medical and education fields.
I have mostly tutored elementary and high school students but would love to help Jr. High students as well. My favorite subjects are Biology, Math and History. I enjoying tutoring because it is individualized and I am able to assist each student on what they need to succeed. My goal is to make what you are learning fun and applicable to real-life.
My undergraduate degree was in the Sciences. I have taken Anatomy, Physiology, Biology, Microbiology and almost every other science course because I not only enjoy them, but was able to apply them in my work life.
I am familiar with the type of questions and study strategies in order to do well on the TEAS. I scored well over the National averages in each subject on the exam.
I have been working with elementary school students at Charter schools for almost 2 years now in Science, Math and Reading. My graduate studies have taught me tools and strategies to apply and I have been able to successfully put them into action over the past year.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
