For over 15 years, I taught high school level American and World History, also political science, law and World War II. My early career in teaching was in Algebra and Geometry. With a Bachelors in History, graduate work in European and military history and a Master's degree in Education, I am well versed in many fields of history and politics. My career before education was an operations manager in a chain of stores. This keeps me grounded in the real world and not just theoretical.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
