About Bob

I have been teaching and tutoring high school mathematics for over 15 years. I have taught algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and elementary functions. I use all of the latest techniques, including the graphing calculators to
make the math both visual and understandable. My student for SAT prep all have done much better as a result of my tutoring them. I've helped students who were struggling with statistics pass the college course they were taking.

I am very patient with my students and my psychology background helps me to overcome their fears and insecurities.
Many of my students have recommended me to their friends which I find to be very complimentary.
I will work with students either at their home, a library, or any other location that is convenient. I can work in the late afternoon, evenings, and on Sundays, if needed.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

The ACT and SAT are my specialties. My approach is to prepare my students on several levels including all of the content covered, strategies to untangle the problems, pacing: to make sure you finish the test, and most of all a sense of confidence so you're not intimidated by the test itself. If you contact me I will happily supply names of former students that you can contact.

Algebra 1

Over 18 years of teaching Algebra I both in high school and Middle school.
PA teaching certification.
Over 100 satisfied students.

Algebra 2

I have taught Algebra 2 for over 18 years. My approach is to make the subject matter understandable and to demonstrate ways in which the math is applied in the real world. I am very patient and use psychology to help build my students' confidence. I use many strategies and techniques so that my students will grasp the material an be able to use it.
