I just finished a PhD in mathematics on the west coast, and moved to Philadelphia, PA with my partner. I have a variety of mathematical and scientific interests, which seem to be constantly expanding. I have a lot of experience teaching physics and mathematics at all levels, including elementary school, high school, undergraduate college level, and even graduate courses, and teaching math and physics in public universities has constituted my employment over the course of the past five years....

I just finished a PhD in mathematics on the west coast, and moved to Philadelphia, PA with my partner. I have a variety of mathematical and scientific interests, which seem to be constantly expanding. I have a lot of experience teaching physics and mathematics at all levels, including elementary school, high school, undergraduate college level, and even graduate courses, and teaching math and physics in public universities has constituted my employment over the course of the past five years. I also have many experiences with private tutoring, with students of all ages and backgrounds. I am open to tutoring in any subject in which one might find my knowledge and teaching ability useful, but I most enjoy teaching mathematics of any sort, particularly to those who share a passion for the subject!

I have a bachelors degree in mathematics in physics from a very well respected university, a masters degree in physics, and am currently working on finishing a PhD in mathematics. I have extensive experience as a college instructor and teaching assistant as well as more than five years of experience as a private tutor working with students of all ages and backgrounds. I have tutored elementary school students, high school students, and college students of varied backgrounds and interests in both math and physics. My tutoring is always done with a mind towards generating enthusiasm, comfort and interest in the subjects I love!

Linear Algebra

I am a graduate student working towards a PhD in math, and have had a significant amount of exposure to linear algebra, and have mastered much of the material. I took an introductory course in college in which I did very well, and continued to use linear algebra throughout my physics and mathematics education, and still often use it in my current work. I have also been a teaching assistant for the introductory linear algebra course at the university at which I am obtaining my doctorate, and have received positive feedback from my students.

First lesson

My son’s first lesson went very well. Mike was prepared with practice exams and ideas for the coming week. He is patient in his approach and our son asked for extra time today.
