I have received Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the 'Cranbrook Academy of Art' (Ranked as one of top 2 programs in U.S. News and World Report); Bachelor of Fine Arts, the 'Maryland Institute of College of Art' (Ranked as one of top 3 programs in U.S. News and World Report). Outstanding results do not come overnight but steadfast and hard work day by day.
My specialties in tutoring are: 'Art and Design- Drawing, Printmaking, and Basic Design', 'Modern to Post-Modern Art History', and 'Media Arts- Digital Imaging and Compositing, Video Art'.
The lessons are generally planned in multi-week schedule. One make-up is allowed per month. Two-week of notice is requested for changes in lesson attendance and 24-hour notice under emergency.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught 'Drawing' one-on-one as well as in university level class settings for more than 10 years.
With emphasis on observational drawing, this basic level course develops student's greater conceptual and technical understanding of drawing as an expressive medium. Various drawing materials, methods and subjects are explored as a means to cultivate perceptual ability and descriptive drawing skills. A range of drawing concepts is covered, including: effective use of line, mass, value, composition and perspective.
In intermediate level course, students are engaged to work with (among other subjects) the figure, nature, mixed media, color, narration, and abstraction.
I have worked with Photography/ Digital Photography since 1999.
The basic level 'Photography' course introduces the fundamentals of photographic practice. Emphasis is placed on the exposure, aesthetics of photographic vision, and digital photo processing.
In the 'Digital Photography' course, topics covered are: camera operation, file formats, impact of digital technology on contemporary photographic practice, as well as the aesthetic and ethical issues surrounding it.
Software applications are used to explore creative and experimental possibilities for processing and manipulating photographs. Various digital output options will also be explored.
In the 'Still/ Moving' course, students will examine the complex relationship between still photography, and the moving image. In class demonstrations will be given on the capture and editing of both digital video, and still photography. Students will also be required to conceptualize and execute visual media, culminating in a project.
I have been working with a wide ranging possibilities of video since 1997, while teaching courses 'Digital Video', 'Timebased Media Arts', 'Video Installation and Performance.'
In the 'Video Production' course, students develop basic skills in high definition video field production and editing. Assignments explore the diverse ways moving images are used for individual expression, entertainment and social & intellectual inquiry.
The 'Video Post-Production' course covers the technologies used to finish a video. Skills covered include color correction, DVD authoring, and working across Final Cut Pro/ Premiere Pro and After Effects.
The 'Video Art' course explores video as a fine arts medium. Since 1965 when Sony released its first portable video camera. Artists have used video as sculpture, produced single-channel works, and integrated it into their performances. Students produce a number of works that explore video's rich possibilities.
