In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated from two Russian-language universities. My Ph.D. educational program in Moscow Power Engineering Institute included such subjects as Art of lectureship, Psychology of Teaching, pedagogic seminars etc., delivered by professors and academics from many leading Moscow universities. All three years of postgraduate study, I lived in an international dormitory as a volunteer roommate of Russian-studying postgraduates. I also have 20 years of experience editing and writing for Russian-language newspapers. Last but not least, I have a Docent degree in Sevastopol National Technical university treated as a distinguished teacher degree in the higher school.
