Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a Master's degree in Special Education (n-12) and have been teaching in the k-8 setting for 11 years. I have extensive experience working with children in the elementary setting and have been trained in discrete trial methods from the University of Pennsylvania.

Special Needs

I earned a M.Ed in Special Education from Holy Family University in 2006, where I graduated with a 4.0. I have worked as a special education teacher since 2003. I began my career in a self-contained, 8th grade Learning Support class. I moved into an inclusion classroom a few years later. In 2007 I opened up a new, K-2 Autistic Support classroom at my job site. I have worked closely with the Center for Autism Research. I am fluent in various special education curricula, including EdMark Reading, STAR, Distar Math, TouchMath, Handwriting Without Tears, Reading Mastery and Connecting Math, Lexia, and Fastt Math. I have worked with children in all of the disability categories identified under IDEA.
