Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT English

Taught ACT English for The Princeton Review.

ACT Math

The key to ACT math is to realize that it's a standardized test - to compare students from year to year they are testing the same rules over and over. The form of the questions may vary, but once you identify the rule that they are testing you can find how the numbers fit into the rule.
I have my own material that lays out all the rules that ACT math tests, plus practice problems for each.

Algebra 1

I've been tutoring Algebra 1 for over ten years, developed apps in the iTunes App Store covering Algebra, and have videos on YouTube.

SAT Reading

SAT reading is business reading - you're looking for specific information.
Think like a test maker - there can't be any doubt or ambiguity about a correct answer, otherwise they'd be inundated by complaints.
Therefore for every correct answer there must be specific information that makes it correct, and for every wrong answer there must be specific information that makes it wrong - often single words or phrases.
Your job is to find that information and my job is to help you.

SAT Writing

The key to understanding SAT writing is that it's a standardized test - to compare students from year to year they're testing the same rules over and over again.
I can help you understand those rules and provide a blueprint for parsing the passages.
