Temple University (Biochemistry)
I am currently a Research Technician at the University of Pennsylvania. I went to Temple University and majored in Biochemistry and minored in mathematics. I completed my Master's in Biotechnology at the University of Pennsylvania in December 2014. During the last two years of college, I tutored other undergraduates at the Math and Science Resource Center on campus and have continued tutoring through Wyzant since 2008. I have always enjoyed studying science and I continue to learn more everyday with my current job and through teaching bright young students! I hope that anyone I tutor will learn to love learning as much as I do, and I seek to help people reach their academic goals with discipline and hard work. I believe a prepared student has no reason to fear projects, tests, or papers! I am most comfortable tutoring chemistry, biology and biochemistry as well as basic math. I recently TA'd BIOL204 (Biochemistry) at the University of Pennsylvania with Professor Rea as well.

Megan has been very flexible both on time and content with my daughter's chemistry lessons. She is helping her get ready for on line exams in a month's time.
Megan is helping me improve my grade on Biochemistry. I meet with her weekly and find it helpful.
I find it most helpful to do problems from each chapter in the book first, and then come to our session with questions.
It definitely helps me get crystal clear about any ambiguities I might have.
Megan was extremely easy to reach and very flexible about the hours. She even came during the snow storm. Explained the material very clearly, patient, great personality, great teacher.
Megan tutored me for College Biology (Genetics). She is a patient and understanding person who is very knowledgeable and was able to help me with every problem or question I had. She makes sure to keep the individual she tutors very positive throughout sessions ensuring that he/she will in fact understand the given material. She is able to give great insight. After going over the material with Megan each session I was able to grasp the material much better than in the lectures and because of this I was well prepared for tests and quizzes given in each of my classes. I highly recommend Megan as a tutor!
Meggan helped Jason tremendously. She new everything he asked and was able to clearly explain to him how to do all of his problems.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken undergraduate Genetics classes, as well as graduate level Genomics classes at the University of Pennsylvania (which require an understanding of Genetics as a prerequisite).
Megan E. passed a background check on 10/6/14. The check was ordered by another user through First Advantage. For more information, please review the background check information page.
After sending a message to Megan, you will be able to order a new background check for $7.99. As part of your tutor selection process, we encourage you to run updated background checks. Please also review the safety tips for hiring tutors.
