Hello! My name is Maggie, I’m a current second year medical student at the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. Hello! My name is Maggie, I’m a current second year medical student at the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. I took the MCAT once and scored in the 98th percentile, receiving a 521 / 528. Through a self-study strategy revamp, I raised my practice scores by 19 points over 2 months after a period of frustrating plateaus, and scored right in my target range on test day. I believe everyone can improve their scores once they find the right study strategy, learn what the test is really asking, and make a feasible study plan--which I can help you with!
I'm also well-equipped to help you at all other steps of your medical school application journey. When I was applying to medical school, I crafted thoughtful answers to essay and interview questions, and wove thematic threads from my personal statement into my whole application. I strongly believe that this continuity and ability to “tell a story” helped me stand out as an applicant. I had 5 interviews, 3 at top 10 schools, and was offered admission to 2 of those top 10 schools. I would be happy to brainstorm ideas, edit essays, and offer insight into what the essay questions are truly asking, drawing from my experience and from Johns Hopkins and UPenn secondary essay class curricula. I also offer mock interviews and interview prep advice, grounded in both my experience and advice from connections on the Penn Med admissions team.
For my undergraduate education, I received a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Johns Hopkins University. I graduated with honors in Biology and also a minor in Music from the Peabody Institute. I have mentored and edited medical school applications for several students, all of whom are now attending a top-choice medical school, and several of whom are reapplicants who went from having 0 interviews before working with me, to receiving multiple interview invitations and acceptances after working with me.
If you’re interested in working with me, please send a message and we can get started!
