The University of the Arts (Illustration)
I graduated from the University of the Arts in 2016 with a BFA in illustration. In order to attain that degree, it is required for me have a high level of knowledge in subjects such as Adobe Photoshop, drawing, and the history of the discipline. In addition to these basic lessons, I have more advanced knowledge in a variety of mediums-- including colored pencil, charcoal, oil paints, watercolors, and digital painting-- as well a a variety of techniques that professionals and masters have used for thousands of years.
I have had experience independently providing instruction for clients ranging from ages 5-41 in a wide variety of artistic techniques and practices including observational drawing and various crafts. I have experience constructing lesson plans which cater to each individual’s ambitions, adapting to the needs and desires of each student on a day to day basis-- or providing encouragement to continue in lesson which was difficult or unappealing to the student depending on their needs, and provided perspectives into the secluded community of practicing artists.
My knowledge of dance, gymnastics, and yoga comes from over ten years of experiential learning in kinesiology and physical therapy practices. I've practiced many sports throughout my life that are hard on the body, including gymnastics, dance, and aerial silks. These experiences have taught me a lot about how the body works, and how best to improve its function when it's not. Yoga can be either a restorative, meditative practice, or a hard workout. I can teach either of these forms.
