I would like every student to know that Math is achievable and can even be fun! Math can also require work but it should never be so hard as to make a student give up or cry.
I am passionate about Math in the early years, from Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus. Middle school and early High School are the ages when most children develop crazy ideas about their abilities regarding math. It upsets me when I hear students say, 'I'm just not good in math!' Comments like that typically mean that a math teacher along the way wasn't able to present the material in a way that made sense to the student. I've never met a student who didn't understand once we as a team figured out how to communicate with each other. Every child can excel in Math and I am determined to do my part to make that happen!
I have current criminal background checks on file and would be happy to share them with you. I would like every student to know that Math is achievable and can even be fun! Math can also require work but it should never be so hard as to make a student give up or cry.

Judie came in to work with our son when he started slipping in Math. Her patience and mastery of the subject matter were obvious from the start, and my son's teacher immediately noticed a difference. Judie really cares: she worked with the teacher to make sure they were reviewing relevant material at my son's level and was so understanding and accommodating when we needed to make changes to the session time. She has a very calm demeanor, which is perfect for students who have Math anxiety or get frustrated easily. I honestly cannot say enough positive things about Judie! She will definitely be invited back to work with our son next year, and we wish we had found her earlier this year! She really is WONDERFUL! (P.S. My son just told me he got a 98 on his Math performance assessment, so those results prove his improvement since working with Judie!)
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
