Sir Isaac Newton wrote, "Truth is ever to be found in the simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things." The realization of this maxim, I believe, is crucial for any student's grasp of whatever material is being learnt, and it is an adage I do my very best to realize in my teaching/tutoring.

Currently, I am a Mathematics student at Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) and a former Philosophy student at Messiah College (presently Messiah University), and--though my formal tutoring experience is limited to a few, irregular sessions in high school and college--I have a great love of teaching/tutoring. Learning, the quest of Truth, is one of my greatest pleasures, and I love helping those on their own journeys in this pursuit. To use more technical terminology, my approach tends to lean more towards a classical, liberal-arts oriented approach, but my subjects of specialty tend to be the "hard sciences" of the STE(A)M subjects. This approach is comes from my great love of the "content" of the humanities & "approach" and "ideological principles" of the (hard) sciences.

Albert Einstein once wrote that, "Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas." This idea, I find, encapsulates my love of maths. But (alas!) personal affinities are not usually considered essential qualifications, so allow me to try quantify the unquantifiable.

Currently, I am working towards an Associate's degree in Mathematics, and, after completing my program at LCCC, I plan to continue my studies by pursing either a bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Secondary Education (focused on Mathematics)--in hopes of pursing a career as a logic teacher in a classical, middle or high school. Furthermore, as a former philosophy student at Messiah College, I am very familiar with (and fond of) formal logic (e.g. deductive & inductive proofs, Venn diagrams, symbolic logic, logical fallacies, etc.), and--as logic itself is the foundation of "mathematical thinking"--I have found my studies in this subject an e

Currently, I am a Mathematics student at Lehigh Carbon Community College working towards a Mathematic's Associate Degree of Science , but I hope to continue my education by pursing a bachelor's degree of either mathematics or secondary education with an emphasis in mathematics. I have a great love of teaching for both the improvement one's academic performance through in-depth understanding of material & the development of an appreciation (if not affinity) for the material itself.

Logic

During my junior year at Messiah College, I took "Introduction to Logic" (PHIL 220), which was a course in first-order logic and some introductory to propositional logic. After completing this course (with an A+), I participated in an independent study in proposition logic lead by my academic advisor, Dr. David Schenk. Furthermore, when I took "Philosophy of Science" (PHIL 362) with Dr. Robin Collins, I learned some introductory probability theory (in relation to Dr. Collins research).
