I graduated from the University of Phoenix where I received my bachelors degree in elementary education. I returned to school after having my third child and realized it was time to follow my dream. Since I graduated in 2012 I have tutored children during the summer months, substituted k-8, and filed in during long term absence for 1st grade.

I had the opportunity to work one on one with students that were home bound for to medical issues. I was excited to bring the work to them and make sure they understood each concept before moving . It is nice to work with students one on one or in small groups.
I am dedicated to my students want see each succeed and know the succeeded on their own. Every child can learn, we just all learn differently and at own speed. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
During my student teaching as well as substituting I worked with students and handwriting. I believe students should learn proper handwriting techniques. I believe every student should learn and take time knowing proper techniques.
I have completed two home school programs through Northern Cambria School district. I completed one for 3 months for a 6th grade student and for a student in 1st grade. I was able to gather information from their current teachers as well as working one on one to be sure they understood the information being presented with.
