I love helping students grow and master new language skills to better their lives and increase all kinds of opportunities. I have many years of experience in teaching four different languages. I focus on using language for communication while working on developing skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. I have experience in teaching language for specific purposes such as in hospitals and in healthcare, in the military and diplomatic community and in business.
Although I love teaching (and learning!) foreign languages, my favorite type of language education is ESL/EFL. I have lived and worked in various cultures and have extensive cultural understanding. I have taught students from Lithuania, Latvia, Japan, China, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary, Vietnam, Laos, Brazil, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and more. My latest experience in ESL/EFL education was at University of Pennsylvania in the English Language Program.
I have taught ESL seminars for the Departments of Education of Iowa, Illinois and Ohio.
Already a French, Spanish and ESL teacher for years, I lived and raised a family in Italy for 30 years. I received certification as a native speaker of Italian from the University of Perugia in 2011. I have been teaching Italian here in Pennsylvania for five years.
