No one has more experience. No one has more expertise. Over the last 15 years I've worked for several different test-prep companies. All were pretty good, but my instruction incorporates the best techniques from each place. There are a lot of SAT coaches who CLAIM to be experts. I PROVE my expertise by showing you my perfect 800 score on the SAT Subject Test, mathematics level 2. I'm not too shabby at reading and writing, either.

I PROVE my expertise by showing you my perfect 800 score on the SAT Subject Test, mathematics level 2. I'm not too shabby at reading and writing, either.

Unlike the one-size-fits-all test-prep courses, and the overly-structured national tutoring companies, I always customize my methods and presentation for the student at hand. There is a big difference between a student striving for 700s on the SAT and one hoping to reach the 500s. Likewise, a student struggling with Algebra I is a far cry from one going for an A in honors pre-calculus. I am comfortable and experienced with all levels of students.

Because many of my students have achieved dramatic increases in their scores, some people get the impression that I am mainly an SAT coach. Such is NOT the case. I have tutored hundreds of students in subjects ranging from pre-algebra to graduate-level statistics. I am a state-certified math teacher, grades 7-12, with seven years of classroom teaching experience.

I am a graduate of the College of William Mary (BA - Mathematics) and the NJ Institute of Technology (MS - Applied Science). But, my greatest qualifications come from years of experience in the real world.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you to achieve your educational goals.

SAT Reading,

SAT Reading

Thankfully, the reading section of the new SAT is a little less challenging than on the previous version. The passages are a little more straight-forward, and gone are those crazy vocabulary words that nobody ever heard of. Although my degrees and certifications are in mathematics, I am highly literate and have helped many students improve their critical-reading skills. I prep students for all parts of the SAT, including the essay.
SAT Writing,

SAT Writing

Writing and grammar are not taught as rigorously as they used to be. Chances are, even if you've attended good schools and gotten good grades, your writing skills could use some improvement. I studied reading and writing under strict, old-school English teachers and professors, which is one reason why my verbal skills exceed those of many English teachers. I have been helping students raise their scores on all sections of the SAT for many years. I can do the same for you.

Algebra 2 is a lot harder than it used to be. It's also more important than it used to be because algebra 2 concepts are included on the new SAT.
Geometry,

Geometry

Most people think of geometry as a math course, which, of course, it is. However, it is also a reasoning course and a language course. The reasoning and language parts present the major stumbling blocks for students. I believe that geometry is among the hardest subjects to teach and to tutor. But... I love it!
Precalculus,

Precalculus

This is the math course that drives high school students crazy, even more so than calculus. It is also my favorite subject to tutor. My qualifications for tutoring precalculus are based on long experience and a perfect 800 score on the SAT subject test, level 2, without a graphing calculator.

The ACT has made huge gains in popularity over the last couple of years. Many students believe they can score higher on the ACT than on the SAT. Thoughtful and thorough SAT Math Level 2 tutoring

My daughter started with a SAT Subject Test Math Level 2 practice score of 580, and with Ron's skillful tutoring, scored a 780 on her first exam. Thanks Ron!

Very Patient And Good At Gauging Where You Need Help

Ron helped me with a few key concepts that I needed to know for my Praxis exam. He was very patient and very good at gauging what areas I needed the most help with. I would definitely recommend Ron for anyone looking to strengthen any area in Math, as he is very knowledgeable and breaks problems down into easily understood steps.

Diana, 1 lesson with Ron

Very knowledgeable and concise

We have used Ron for both of our children with help in preparing for the SAT and help with Honors Algebra. He can tell very quickly where there weaknesses are and has given them both helpful strategies to improve their scores.

Kinsey, 4 lessons with Ron

Ron jumped right in and got down to the important business.

Ron was able to prep our son for an Algebra 2 test on short notice. We will continue to use him regularly. Highly recommend.

Ron was friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, and encouraging.

Ron was friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, and encouraging. He was able to tailor the lesson to my daughter's needs. He reviewed the work she had done on her own and offered suggestions for next steps.

Professional & knowledgeable--I would highly recommend Ron.

Excellent tutor - professional, courteous, timely & knowledgeable. With Ron's help, our daughter scored a 31 on the ACT. This score, along with her GPA, made her eligible for the Provost Scholarship! My daughter had great results with her SATs as well. Ron provided work materials & practice tests, he instilled confidence, and he was an excellent tutor overall.

Shannon, 3 lessons with Ron

Excellent Tutor

Ron is an excellent tutor. He really knows math material well and presents the concepts very clearly. He works very well with my teenager and has been extremely helpful with geometry.

Helpful SAT Math Tutor

Ron was very helpful for raising my daughter's math SAT score in only two sessions. He immediately focused on her weakness of rushing through the easy problems, and making simple calculation errors. As a result, he raised her confidence level, and she scored above 700 in math.

Great Tutor

Thank you Ron for helping my daughter get through her SAT and ACT tests. With your help, she became more confident and knowledgeable in math. Her score on the SAT improved dramatically.
