My name is Catherine C. and I am a recent college graduate from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. I am currently in the process of receiving my Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in English for grades 7-12. I have tutored both undergraduate and graduate students in East Stroudsburg University's own "Writing Studio" throughout my college career, as well as also during my student teaching. At the "Writing Studio," tutees bring in their rough drafts of papers that they had written for any class and I helped them with proofreading, brainstorming, organizational tips, and thesis development. The tutee and I work together to answer any questions or concerns about writing style, language, and general flow of the paper. During my tutoring sessions with tutees, we review grammar, sentence structure, grammatical rules, and ways to improve and master writing ability and skills. I have tutored a variety of students such as English Language Learners, English as a Second Language learners, and students with disabilities. I have tutored one-on-one and with a group of students. Tutoring is a passion of mine, and I am determined to inspire and motivate students of all ages to become more fluent, professional writers. Hello!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
