My education started with a degree in business and I spent 10 years in marketing and management positions before realizing my passion is in teaching. I am a certified, professional educator that hopes to help your student achieve their maximum potential. I am an educator that is committed to maximizing student achievement and creating life long learners through dedication, leadership, technology, and instruction in a student-centered environment. I have been working with students in first grade through high school outside of the traditional classroom to help them meet their potential in content areas in which they are struggling.
I like working with students in a quiet environment where they are comfortable and able to concentrate so that they can be successful. It is my belief that creating a strong educational support team is vital to the success of a student. Traditionally, depending on the age, I like to include parents as much as possible so to help them also understand the material. I look forward to the opportunity to help facilitate educational growth in anyway I can. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
