Clear, well-reasoned writing requires practice and discipline. I focus on helping students navigate the rigors of writing in high school, college and beyond. Guiding them in that pursuit has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life.
My journalism background informs how I teach writing. I emphasize economy of expression -- strong, succinct sentences with a clear line of reasoning and compelling presentation. I teach students how to express ideas more clearly.
Fun Facts: I am a fanatic for crossword puzzles and movies (I am on a first-name basis with everyone at The Bryn Mawr Film Institute). I read voraciously. I am the parent of three: one daughter, one cat, and one very-high maintenance little dog.
