I am proud to be a statistics geek. I like to show students that numbers aren't as intimidating as they seem. I finished college at Penn State in May 2011 with a statistics major for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. During my last 5 semesters, I worked for the statistics department as a grader and lab intern for Intro to Statistics and during my last semester, I worked as a teaching assistant for a 400-level regression class. I learned how to explain many statistical concepts in ways that the professor didn't consider, but students could comprehend. I love statistics, but also enjoy teaching other branches of math. I think that every student has the ability to understand statistics and math; we just have to find the right key to unlock the connection between what is being taught and what is being learned. Christine is definitely helping my daughter. Her teacher has commented that she is improving. My daughter also enjoys being taught by Christine. I would definitely recommend her.
A couple of brief meetings helped assess and evaluate the statistical barriers with our research paper. Looking to get more time with her for future products.
Christine is working out great. My daughter is very happy with her. Her grades are picking up and she feels more confident. I would definitely recommend her. She is a great tutor.
Thank you to WyzAnt I am very pleased.
Christine met with our daughter for her AP Stats class homework and spent a good hour going over and explaining the practice test. Once Emily had some extra help and someone to show her how to work through the problem she picked it up right away. The other time was spent giving her the formulas to study in preparation for her test. She went to class today and was the only one who had all the answers on the practice test correct. Our daughter's confidence level went up several notches thanks to Christine's help. Now for the big test on Tuesday, I'm confident our daughter will do extremely well because she understands and can apply the concepts Christine taught her.
Christine continues to impress with her teaching skills and ability to connect to my
daughter--who has recently been scoring 90's and 95's on her most recent math tests
I needed a lot of help with my graduate level statistics course, and Christine was perfect! She has an impressive ability to take the often complex and confusing concepts found and statistics and break them down into simple plain English.
An excellent experience overall, and she has been very flexible with scheduling sessions whenever it was most convenient for me. I can't recommend her enough! Christine has been the best experience I have had on WyzAnt, and I have been using the service for three years now!
My daughter loved having Christine for a tutor. She was able to break down concepts in Adv Algebra so my daughter could understand them. I highly recommend her!
Christine did a wonderful job of taking a complex subject and making it understandable. I have been struggling with statistics during my educational career, and Christine helped me get over my fears, grasp the concepts, and begin to gain some much-needed confidence.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
