Hi. My name is Bob, and I have been a college Math instructor for more than 14 years, over 7 years full-time. What I enjoy most is seeing students learn and master math subjects and succeeding in taking standardized tests.
I have tutored high school, college students, and working adults for more than 2000 hours over 13 years (this includes more than 500 hours with WyzAnt). Subjects include all high school MATH courses and most college MATH courses, plus SAT/ACT, GRE, PRAXIS Math Core and PRAXIS II --focusing on the math sections.
I tutor students in Bucks County, PA, Northeast Philadelphia, and parts of New Jersey counties: Mercer, Burlington, and Hunterdon.
I have a B.S. in Mathematics, MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and an M.S. in Computer Science, The George Washington University (Washington, DC).
I am a full-time Math Instructor at Rowan College at Burlington County, Mt. Laurel, and Willingboro, New Jersey). I previously taught part-time (adjunct) at Holy Family University (Philadelphia), Manor College (Jenkintown, PA), and Centenary College (Burlington, New Jersey). Hi. After my son's 4th lesson with Mr. R his high school Trigonometry teacher stopped me in the hallway and remarked how well my son was doing. He was very pleased with his increased confidence and speed at answering questions in class. Mr. R is very patient and my son has requested that they continue the sessions!
Robert came to out home helped my son prepare for the math section on the SAT. He is an excellent tutor. My son only had two sessions with him but I would call him again if he is ever stuck in learning or reviewing. Rate him 5 stars!!!
Robert helped me understand the partial fractions method. He is always patient with me even when I make silly mistakes. He is also far more knowledgeable than the student tutors at my school.
I want to thank Bob SO much for helping me with the math section of the DAT (Dental Admission Test). I was really nervous for the math section and now I feel more than confident to take the test! He has a tremendous amount of knowledge and most importantly, he is excellent at explaining/showing how to approach different problems in the easiest way possible. He is also very very kind, easy to talk to and to understand. I HIGHLY recommend him!!! Thank you again so much!
Now able to understand the concepts much better and will hopefully gain more interest in the subject as we continue with more lessons. Hope to also improve my grades. Robert is a very good tutor.
It would have been more helpful if I had provided some clear objectives with which Mr. Robert could have structured our time. I am thankful he was able to meet with me on very short notice and help clarify certain problems from one of my assignments.
After Bob left his tutoring session with my son who is a junior at a Private Prep School, my son said "Dad I learned more in 1hour with Bob than the last 3months in school." His explanation to identify clarity in finding solution to a specific equation was just brilliant. As a parent hearing that from your son is the reason I requested Bob for his help and hoped that would happen. It did! He exceeded my expectations. I look forward to his tutoring sessions with my son.
I used Bob to help me review for the Math Praxis II exam (0014). He did a great job reviewing the material and he knew exactly how the test would be set up. I was able to pass it on my first attempt. Bob was very organized and patient in his reviewing of all the material. I would highly recommend him.
Great instructor. Very patient, intelligent, and knowledgeable. Bob was even willing to drive to meet me. I would highly recommend Robert.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored many students over the last 11 years in Algebra II.
I have also taught all levels of Algebra, from pre-Algebra and intermediate Algebra up to College Algebra and Linear Algebra at several community colleges.
I have taught Programming I and II at Manor College (CS 210 and CS 211). Both of these courses use C++ as the language. Programming II includes object oriented programming topics.
I have tutored many students over the last 11 years in Calculus (high school), AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, Calculus I, II, and III.
I have also taught Calculus I, II, and III at the college level.
I teach Discrete Math (MTH 226) at Burlington County College. This subject includes topics in the areas of logic, proofs, combinatorics, functions and relations, and graphs.
I have tutored many students in Geometry over the past 11 years. This includes students in basic Geometry through Honors Geometry. Some of the higher level courses I teach in college, including Linear Algebra and Calculus II and III include Analytic Geometry components.
I teach Linear Algebra (MTH 201) at Burlington County College. This subject includes topics such as linear systems, matrix operations, vectors and vector spaces, linear independence, basis and dimension, homogeneous systems, rank, coordinates and change of basis, orthonormal bases, linear transformations, kernel and range, determinants, cofactor expansion, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, diagonalization, diagonalization of symmetric matrices.
I have tutored students in Praxis I (PPST) Math only and in Praxis II Math only, over a period of several years. I have had reports back of many students successes on the Praxis. The different levels of Praxis cover a range of topics, much as SAT and GRE's. I am knowledgeable in all of the math areas, which range from prealgebra, algebra, geometry, data analysis (including some statistics), and discrete math.
I have tutored many students in Precalculus over the past 11 years.
I also have taught Precalculus at the college level. The material in Precalculus is, naturally, used heavily in the Calculus II and III courses which I also teach.
I have tutored students to prepare them for the SAT--Math test for more than 10 years. I also received formal training from a major tutoring company in preparing students for the SAT Math test. I also use materials specially designed for one-on-one SAT Math tutoring. My students have had excellent results on the SAT Math, with scores up to 800.
