I enjoy working one-on-one with students. This allows me to find misconceptions and explain how and why to fix them. I believe every student should have a personal tutor to assist in any way possible! I strive to encourage all students to see the beauty of education in order for them to succeed. Special Needs

ADHD,

ADHD

I am currently working at a school which specializes in ADD/ADHD and dyslexia. Students need to learn in chunks, with frequent breaks, which is difficult in a large group setting. Students with ADD/ADHD need multi-sensory experiences to develop skills on a mastery level. This needs to be done according to the individual needs of each student, which is why students with ADD/ADHD often need individualized instruction, and I have been working with these student for over 7 years.

I am certified in teaching Orton-Gillingham plus. I use several types of resources to aid in student learning. Phonetic components are especially important in the learning process. I feel combining the reading and writing process is beneficial to the overall learning of the English language. This has been helpful to students I have worked with in the past because it allows for the multi- functional use of our language.
