I have taught physics and math for 16 years as a certified teacher in Pennsylvania. I have been awarded the Teacher Impact award by WGAL TV-8. I have previous practical experience working in the field of engineering. I am a swimming and water polo coach for age-group/high school teams.

I have four children (2 boys, 2 girls) between 9th and college right now. I am comfortable teaching all ranges of ages and abilities. Usually, students are just stumbling over an initial 'speed bump' that I work to help them get over. Once a problem gets off to a good start, the student can experience the success of correctly completed and understood assignments. I look to be a guide first. Understanding of the method to a problem's solution is the key.

Study Skills

I have 10 years of teaching 9th-12th grade in math and science. I regularly helped students after school. Often they could not get over a simple 'speed bump' that I could help them see how their notes or book had the key. I encourage students to keep good summary sheets prior to a test. These combine to study for a final. And these are of great use in the 'next class' for which their current class is a prerequisite.

I have been actively teaching and coaching swimming for 35 years - since I got my Water Safety Instructor certificate when I was 16. I've coached club through high school varsity level swimming. I swam at the University of Pittsburgh, and continue to swim Masters currently. I have attended Eastern States Swim Clinic multiple times, and have a vast repertoire of drills to help teach any age swimmer how to get better and enjoy this great lifetime sport even more.
Water Polo

Water Polo

I have been playing, coaching, and refereeing water polo for over 35 years. I currently referee PA high school level (PIAA) in addition to NCAA. I am an assistant coach annually at the US Naval Academy summer age-group water polo camp. I have coached teams at the US Junior Olympics, US Junior Nationals, and assistant to the US team for the North American championships vs Mexico and Canada. I'm sure your game will improve with more fundamental skill work that I could provide.

Great experience!

Sean has been a great asset to our daughter this year. He was patient and thorough in his approach to all subject areas which promoted confidence in the classroom and for tests. We will definitely be scheduling sessions for our younger daughter when she takes this course.

Helpful, personable, and accommodating

Quick and responsive. Seems to be genuinely interested in our students mastery of calculus. We look forward to continuing the process that was started this evening.

Just what we needed

Sean was so flexible. My daughter was new to the school so we didn't have much hw to work with. He came up with a plan and wasted no time. I'm confident she'll be just fine.

We are fortunate to have found Mr B.

Mr. B has extensive teaching experience, and it shows. He is extremely knowledgeable and makes the subject matter (pre-calculus in this case) interesting to my child. I am grateful for his enthusiasm and skill in helping my child learn needed material.

Awesome Lesson

Had a great lesson. We had been working on a very tough section of my calc book and I was a little worried about my test. Mr. B helped me by reviewing the troubling sections and helping me through my study sheet. I was very confident come test day and I scored very well on my test. Thank you Mr. B.
