Temple University (Anthropology)
My name is Brooke and I am a recent graduate of Temple University with a degree in anthropology hailing from the college of Liberal Arts. In addition to my anthropology degree I also studied the Russian Language, English and environmental studies for multiple years. I continued my liberal arts education at the Anglo-American University in Prague where I studied Prague's Art and Architecute, the Czech language, as well as the flourishing cultures and subcultures of the fairytale-esque city. I am well versed in classic authors and have written more papers and essays in my college career than I can count.
As a child, I always struggled with math and science and being the proud child that I was I DREADED seeking any extra help. However, I always found myself hunched over a physics or algebra book at a friend's house after school working each problem out one at a time. I understand that not everyone likes to admit that they need help or do not know where to even start but this is where I can step in and ease the process and help you or your child. I did not go on to major in anything math or heavy science related, but I did what I had to do to at least get above average grades in those subjects. I read constantly and truly believe in the power of reading and writing. I would love to help anybody that is struggling to start that novel, book report or essay because trust me I know how overwhelming it can be. If you have any questions about my education and/or past experience please do not hesitate to ask. Hello there!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I majored in Anthropology at Temple University, where I specialized in cultural and linguistic studies. I have participated in multiple fieldwork projects that involved participant observation as well as intensive research, questionnaires and interviews. My anthropological capstone was about the subculture of Bikram Yoga, specifically at a newly opened bikram studio in North Philadelphia where I took classes at least 3 times a week and interviewed fellow participants of all ages.
