I am currently a stay-at-home-mom with a fairly flexible schedule. I have eight years of international teaching experience in English as a Second Language, English Literature, grammar, writing, history, and geography. I have taught young children to adults, although the majority of my classroom teaching experience is with middle school aged children. I have tutored individuals throughout my years of high school and college, and throughout my years of teaching.
I enjoy building relationships with those that I tutor and finding ways to help them understand concepts. I enjoy the interaction of tutoring, working together to better understand the topics at hand. I often end up remaining friends with those I tutor long after the academic goals are fulfilled.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English from Liberty University in Lynchburg VA, and a Master's degree in Secondary Education from the American Graduate School of Education at Acacia University in Tempe AZ. I have lived abroad and taught ESL courses and/ or students whose first language is not English for eight years. I worked in both Egypt and Thailand, giving me a broad understanding of the needs of the ESL student. I taught English at international schools during that time as well, allowing me to build my teaching skills in that area.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Having attended two Christian Universities in my undergrad, I took numerous Bible courses earning B's or higher. I have taught Bible in a Christian school and Sunday School at my church.
