My name is Diane and I love teaching students math! I recently retired after teaching high school math for 30 years. I loved every minute of teaching and I cherish the interactions I have had with my students over the years. I taught Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, College Algebra, College Trigonometry, Calculus, and AP Calculus. In addition to teaching math classes, I was in charge of the high school gifted program.
Becoming a teacher was a lifelong dream. I attended Penn State University and graduated with a BS in Education. My first teaching job was as a remedial math and reading teacher for grades 1-6. Next I taught 5th, 6th, and 7th grade math and science. I decided then to go back and get a degree in both mathematics and computer science. I also took a few extra classes to become certified to teach secondary math. During all of those years, I did one-on-one tutoring in math. My last and longest job was teaching high school math. I retired at the end of the 2018 school year. My retirement life is very active, but I have some time that can well be used for doing something I love - helping students better understand math and build their confidence through understanding. Teaching math has been my joy and passion and I want to continue that even though I am retired. Because I am retired, my schedule is somewhat flexible.
Feel free to contact me with any further questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to hearing from you.
