University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (Latin American Studi)
I graduated in 2012 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies and a minor in Spanish for Health Professions. I studied abroad in Valparaiso, Chile during the fall semester of 2010. I have traveled to 3 different states in Mexico on various faith-based mission trips.
At UW-Eau Claire, I volunteered as apprentice to a Spanish professor for a Spanish 202 (fourth semester advanced) course. I held office hours for students to come for homework help or to study before exams/quizzes. Whether you are struggling to pass the class or you feel unchallenged in the advanced level courses, everyone can use a little help or practice, and that is why I'm here.
I am also willing to teach students who are not otherwise enrolled in a Spanish class who wish to learn Spanish as a second language, at whatever age or fluency level.

Jessica has done a great job with my son. They haven't met as often this summer as all of us had hoped but he will still be ahead of the game when he starts his honors Spanish 4 class in a few weeks. My son plans to continue to meet with Jessica throughout the school year.
Jessica was a great tutor. She really helped me prepare for the AP Spanish Exam. She always brought helpful materials to my tutoring sessions. She would also email me other materials to look over for extra practice. I really appreciate all the help she gave me and would definitely recommend her as a tutor. Muchas Gracias!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
At the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire I volunteered as apprentice to a professor of Spanish 202 (4th semester advanced grammar) where I held office hours to help students outside of class in small groups or individually. In Chile I volunteered as a teaching assistant for a high school English 4 class.
